Konrad Mizzi knew about 17 Black, Adrian Delia insists

Minister Konrad Mizzi knew about 17 Black, the company opened in Dubai, Opposition Leader Adrian Delia said this evening.

Media reports say that on 28 April 2016 Mizzi, through a company named Shillinga, had requested the Panamanian firm Mossack Fonseca to send documentation related to 17 Black, Delia said in a statement.

On Thursday, Mizzi insisted on a PBS programme Xtra that he did not know anything about 17 Black.

Reuters has recently revealed that the owner of 17 Black is a director of a company that is part of the Electrogas consortium that was chosen to build the Delimara power station. The National Auditor report on Electrgas shows that Nexia BT's Brian Tonna, who had opened companies in Panama for Mizzi and the OPM chief of staff Keith Schembri, was the team leader of an evaluation committee that selected Electrogas.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat must now take the decision he should have taken months ago, and this is to sack Mizzi and Schembri, Delia said.
