PN remains in a precarious financial situation, €9m in debt – PL

The Nationalist Party is still in dire financial straits, with its debt reaching €9 million, the Labour Party said in a statement.

This has happened in spite of three schemes launched by the party in the last years – the loan scheme (cedoli), the scheme by which salaries were paid by the private sector and income from the EU, the PL said in a statement.

This led the PN to present its financial accounts to the Electoral Commission after the general election and two months after the deadline.

To add insult to injury, the party sacked some employees as soon as the Simon Busuttil administration took over but the same administration gave itself an 11% rise in wages while employing relatives, the PL said.
