The Malta Tourism Authority today welcomed the combined action taken by Planning and Environment authorities with regard to fish farm operations.
Whilst recognizing the importance of this industry and the benefits it generates for the Maltese economy, the authority said in a statement it feels that more care should be taken to ensure that these activities do not leave a negative impact on our tourism product.
The success of ongoing efforts by MTA and many others to promote Malta as a holiday destination depend to a large extent on the quality of the product that we offer our visitors.
In this regard, the cleanliness of our beaches and bathing waters, for which we are all collectively responsible, plays an important role and must be safeguarded by all.
