Daniel Cordina, deputy mayor of Zebbug, Gozo, told this newsroom that a wall in an abandoned site in Marsalforn fell over and damaged a car last week.
The deputy mayor spoke with the council and urged them to draw the Planning Authority's attention to undeveloped sites in Marsalforn prior to the incident, in order to make owners of such sites to build walls as a buffer and maintain it, in order to avoid dangerous situations and to avoid rubbish being dumped inside.
In a recent Facebook post, the Deputy Mayor wrote that he felt disappointed that the Authority did not take any action, and did not reply to the Council's request.
The rubble that fell over damaging a car last week is still present, covering the pavement and part of the road, he said, adding that this site was one of those highlighted in their appeal to the Planning Authority.
