Man denies trying to cause serious injury to his brother during argument involving knives

A 24-year-old man from Qormi was today charged with trying to seriously injure his brother during an argument in which knives were used.

Axel Grech, 24, from Handaq, pleaded not guilty to attempting to grievously injure Leon Grech, using a knife during the commissioning of a crime, threatening his brother and relapsing. The accused pleaded not guilty.

The two knives used during the argument were exhibited in court.

Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech granted bail against a deposit of €2,000 and a personal guarantee of €8,000.

Inspector Kylie Borg prosecuted. Lawyers Franco Debono and Amadeus Cachia appeared for Mr Grech.
