Family Minister Michael Farrugia slammed the opposition for its defence of those persons who are evading tax, he said in a press release issued this afternoon.
He stressed that following the doubling of the rent subsidy, announced in the 2017 budget measures, this government will continue to observe rent market developments and take whatever steps are necessary.
Mr Farrugia noted how "shameful" it is for the opposition to be incapable of reading statistics, and questioned how it could be trusted to lead the country.
He said that under PN leadership, it is a known fact that poverty was on the rise, and in the last few years of this PL government, this tide has turned.
