President Coleiro Preca in talks with Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Rome

President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca today met Italian President Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinale palace in Rome.

They discussed the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union as well as the themes that will be discussed during a meeting of non-executive Presidents of the EU, which will be held in Malta in September.

Mrs Coleiro Preca and Mr Mattarella also discussed the excellent relations between Malta and Italy and the Italian President's upcoming visit to Malta later on this year.
