Around 30 people were arrested this mThorning on suspicions of being involving in a cockfighting ring, police have confirmed.
This morning roughly 30 people were arrested by police in connection with a cockfighting ring, a police statement has confirmed.
The arrest, which took place on a farm in tal-Handaq in Qormi, involved several police officers including the Administrative Law Enforcement, the Rapid Intervention Unit, and officials from the Animal Welfare Department.
The officers found a number of spectators and roosters. A number of the people are suspected to have betted on the illegal cockfight.
Police investigations are ongoing.
