Two men were sentenced today, after pleading guilty to charges related to theft

Allan Grima, 35, was charged with the theft of €30 from the interior of a Toyota Hiace, voluntarily damaging a third party's property amounting to €151 on 12 February, and for relapsing. He was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment. He was charged with similar crimes in the past, and in fact was charged with similar accusations quite recently, where he was found guilty of thefts which occurred on the 11 and 12 February.

Mohamed Mokthar Mohamed Jahmur, 26, was charged with complicity in the theft , and doing so while under a suspended sentence. The suspended sentence refers to an 18-month jail term which was suspended after he admitted to slightly injuring his wife's lover.

The court issued a probation order for Mr Jahmur and extended his suspended sentence by one year, resulting in a total of four years.
