Martin Micallef appointed Broadcasting Authority chairman

Martin Micallef has been appointed chairman of the Broadcasting Authority, the government said. The appointment was made after consultation with the Opposition Leader.

Last week The Malta Independent had reported that Mr Micallef had been approached for the post after the sudden death of George Mifsud, who had replaced Tanya Borg Cardona only two weeks earlier following her resignation in the wake of accusations of bullying by employees.

Martin Micallef is graduated with a Masters in mass communication and has a 40-year experience in local and foreign broadcasting.
