"The best time for our country" in the slogan chosen by the Labour Party for the 2017 election, announced by the Prime Minister.
Joseph Muscat, addressing a hastily convened press conference last night, said Malta is experiencing successes but with what Labour is proposing things will get better.
Economic growth is moving at record rate, the number of people working is unprecedented and the number of registered unemployed is at its lowest. 2016 had ended with a budget surplus for the first time in 34 years, he said.
The PM added that Simon Busuttil and Marlene Farrugia want all this to collapse. "The people know where they stand with me," he said.
For the press conference, the PM was flanked by his wife who is at the centre of a political storm after it was revealed that she was the owner of a company that was secretly opened in Panama, a claim the Muscat couple refuse.
