Libyan man grievously injured after being hit with a glass in Bugibba fight

Two Libyan men were injured, one of them grievously, in a fight that took place in Bugibba's main square yesterday evening.

The police said they received a report about the fight, which took place at around 22:30.

In a statement the police said a 37-year-old man who lives in St Paul's Bay had been hit in the head by a glass. Before he was assaulted, the man had tried to stop a group of people, who are probably foreigners, from assaulting two people who were sitting with him.

A 25-year-old Libyan, who lives in Gzira, was slightly injured.

The police are investigating.
