A court has handed a 38-year-old German woman, Janine Voigt, a suspended sentence, after she pled guilty to slightly injuring a police officer and resisting arrest.
The incident occurred at bar in St Julian's yesterday evening, and it is being reported that it began after she was caught smoking inside the establishment.
Voigt pled guilty to the charges and was handed a six-month jail-term, which was suspended for two years.
The court, which was presided over by Magistrate Francesco Depasquale, sentenced Voigt to a six-month jail-term, which was suspended for two years; and was fined woman €4000.
