The two Labour Party Deputy Leaders, Chris Cardona and Chris Fearne have lashed out at the outgoing PN leader for keeping the same, negative way of doing politics. Cardona and Fearne, who addressed a press conference earlier today at the Labour Party headquarters, said that Simon Busuttil wants to keep his 'legacy of negative politics' even after his departure.
Cardona said that it is clear that Simon Busuttil wants to keep control over the new PN leader. "He wants his predecessor to lead in the same way, with negative politics."
The PL MPs criticized Busuttil for attacking the judiciary saying that no wonder the Chamber of Lawyers condemned the recent attack on Judge Antonio Mizzi.
Cardona said that Simon Busuttil wants a new PN leader who keeps on attacking. "Busuttil does not understand that politics is not about fighting and being aggressive. The people have chosen that they are beyond this aggressive politics."
The PL deputy leader said that the PN does not want to commission a report on the election defeat because it will reveal what a disaster Simon Busuttil's legacy left.
Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne said that it is clear that the PN chose badly when they elected Simon Busuttil as leader. "The face of the leader will change, but the style of politics will remain the same. PN is ignoring the public's choice. People no longer believe in aggressive politics."
Fearne also mentioned potential PN leadership contenders who were reluctant to run for PN leader simply because they saw that the PN will never change.
