The price for a 12kg gas cylinder, which is mostly used in homes, has gone up by one euro as from today.
Any changes to the price is normally announced publicly before it is implemented, but this time the Regulator for Water and Energy Services published a press statement after consumers had already started paying the extra charge.
The price of a 12kg gas cylinder is now €15.50, up from €14.50 last month. The price had been of €14.50 since May 2016.
The regulator said that the adjustment was made in view of the rising international price of LPG in the last weekg.
The price of cylinders of other sizes is to be calculated pro rata based on this price.
