The PN administrative committee this evening reprimanded Jean Pierre Debono for his behaviour during the run-up to the leadership election.
Debono, who resigned his seat to make way for new party leader Adrian Delia's presence in Parliament, was reprimanded for the way he handled proxy votes, but the PN committee said there was no need for further investigations.
The committee endorsed the opinion of the party electoral commission, which drew up a report on the allegations.
The committee also accepted a declaration made by Debono who apologised for his behaviour and assumed responsibility, also agreeing not to involve himself in the other party elections that will be held this year. Debono said that his intention was to help out in the collection of voting documents, and that there were no other intentions.
