Rain causes havoc on the roads; employees, students blocked in traffic

The heavy rainfall experienced this morning brought traffic to a standstill in the most notorious areas across Malta.

Employees arrived late at the office and students were still seen on minibuses at 9.15am, meaning that they were late for school.

With University and MCAST students also on the roads as the campus opened for a new academic year, the situation was terrible in all major roads this morning.

Flights were also affected by the weather, with a number of incoming and outgoing flights delayed.

The Maltese Roads Traffic Updates Facebook page reports flooding in the Ta' Xbiex area.
