Archbishop Charles Scicluna spoke of the importance of creating an environment where young people are listened to, while exchanging festive greetings with the general public.
Addressing a small crowd at the Curia, the Archbishop mentioned that next year, Bishops from around the world will meet with the Pope in Rome..
He mentioned that prior to this meeting in Rome, he will organise dialogues with local youths, in order to listen to their concerns and their hopes, while also passing a message of encouragement and hope.
"I invite families to, this year, create an environment where we not only show youths how much we love and care for them, but also listen to them."
He quoted St Paul, and highlighted the importance of giving youth hope, allowing them space to express what is in their hearts.
He mentioned Valletta 2018 and the European Capital of Culture. He mentioned
The Archbishop mentioned that people should find beauty which could bring them closer to God, stating that beauty affects quality of life. He referred to beauty in Malta's cultural heritage, the environment and words exchanged between ourselves.
Archbishop Emeritus Paul Cremona, and Vicar Joe Galea Curmi were also present, exchanging greetings with the public.
