Greta and Christian met at a very young age, she was only 14 and he was 17 years old. It was love at first sight for Greta. Christian used to live in Greta's late Grandmother's street, so she used to sleep at her house every night, to see him playing football with his friends.
After 10 years together, in 2016, Christian proposed on Christmas Eve, while they opened their presents by the Christmas tree. It was the most romantic proposal ever, which was unexpected for Greta. Even though they were together for a long time still he took her by surprise. They planned to get married six months later so it was quite a roller coaster for the couple after the proposal. It was not easy to plan and organise a wedding in just six months but luckily for them, everything they wanted was available on the desired date. Greta said that she would do it all over again, as she enjoyed every second of it.
Greta and Christian got married on the 11th of June, 2017, the Mass was held at Saint Paul's old church, in Naxxar. It is a very small and sweet chapel; they chose it mainly because it was very convenient for them and their guests as it was close to their chosen venue, which was Villa Arrigo. It was the dream wedding venue for Greta who described the venue as a magical place.
They did not have a particular theme but they just wanted everything to be sweet and simple. In fact, they just decorated the chapel and venue with beautiful flowers from Anna Zammit. It was just enough to make both locations look even more magical. Greta's dress was also quite simple. She had always dreamt of a Cinderella ball gown dress but opted instead for a mermaid dress, from Centro Sposa. It was very elegant and simple with a back detail, she looked stunning. On the other hand, Christian got his suit, which was grey with a cream striped tie and a white shirt, also very elegant, from Bortex.
The couple made it a point to enjoy their special day with their families and friends and that is exactly what happened because everyone was dancing, and enjoying themselves. It was definitely a dream come true for both. Their first dance was to the very popular song Xemx, by the talented Big Band Brothers. Greta said that she always cries when she hears the song on the radio!
It was a memorable day for both and they will for sure cherish all the nice memories and live by their priest's advice to work together hand in hand and to not let any obstacles that might come along their way to destroy what they have worked for together.
Christian and Greta gave a donation to ALS Malta, they wanted to do their part and help this organisation and its founder, Bjorn Formosa.
After their wedding day, they went on a lovely honeymoon cruise around the Greek islands. It was a gift from Christian's brother and partner. They just packed their bags and sailed away.
