The Malta Union of Midwives & Nurses (MUMN) has written to the Public Service Commission, urging them to begin the process of publishing Deputy Charge Nurse appointments.
The MUMN said that over 100 nurses contacted the union, seriously preoccupied about this process not yet having started. The interviews to fill the post occurred months ago, the union said, and the nurses involved are feeling that the delay in the process is resulting in serious suspicions, that the process will not remain transparent r just.
The MUMN said that it cannot accept any more delays in the processing of these appointments, mentioning that all hospitals, health centres and elderly care institutions are suffering from vacancies in these posts, leaving negative effects on patient care.
