Two divers were winched to safety following a distress call earlier this afternoon, the Department of Information said.
The divers were reported to have found themselves in difficulty off Żurrieq.
The AFM immediately dispatched the Melita II search and rescue launch and an AW139 helicopter which airlifted the divers to safety.
