Former Labour Party CEO and the current chairman of Transport Malta, James Piscopo, is set to be named Lands Authority CEO, according to a report on Maltatoday.
Piscopo, known to be a close friend of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, is to take over what is considered to be one of the most difficult entities to reform.
Until last week, Planning Authority CEO Johann Buttigieg was being touted for the post, but speaking in Parliament last Monday, Transport Minister Ian Borg had categorically denied that Buttigieg will be leaving the PA.
A public call for applications for the post of CEO at Lands Authority will be issued in the near future, following the resignation of Carlo Mifsud to run a new authority to be set up within the Transport Ministry.
