Yesterday afternoon, the Armed Forces of Malta successfully rescued a 40-year-old British man who found himself in difficulty at Wied iż-Żurrieq.
The AW139 helicopter was dispatched to the area, and winched the casualty to safety.
He was then transferred to the AFM's Air Wing Base and subsequently taken to Mater Dei Hospital by an ambulance.
