A court has given a second chance to a thief who stole over €2,300 in cash.
Joseph Farrugia, a 27-year-old kitchen helper from Birkirkara appeared in the dock before magistrate Yana Micallef Stafrace this morning, accused of stealing envelopes containing the cash from a Cospicua residence.
Farrugia's lawyer, Fransina Abela, entered a plea of guilty to the charge of aggravated theft.
The court placed the man on probation for 3 years. "You're still young, don't ruin everything...your life and that of those around you," the magistrate admonished.
Inspector Oriana Spiteri prosecuted.
