The government is failing in its fight to eradicate the drug problem in prison, Nationalist Party spokesman for the fight against crime Beppe Fenech Adami said today.
He was referring to media reports about new cases of prisoners being found positive when tested for drugs, which he said had not been denied by the government.
Fenech Adami said that the government had boasted about its plans to eradicate the drug problem from the prison, but what happened these days exposed its failure.
He said the government should shoulder its responsibilities and take measures to ensure that people taking drugs into prison are caught.
