A €300 payment to persons aged over 75 who are still living in their own home will be affected tomorrow, Saturday 2 February, the government said.
The budget 2019 measure will cost the government some €8.6 million.
28,646 persons are set to receive the payment.
The family ministry said bonus payments for persons who paid their national insurance but do not have a pension will also be paid out on Saturday. The bonus was introduced in 2014 and is being increased by another €50 this year.
This means that persons who paid their NI for over a year but less than five years will see the yearly bonus increased to €200, while those who paid NI for over 5 years will have their bonus increased to €300.
11,618 people are set to benefit from this measure, which will cost just under €2.9 million.
The Minister for the family, Children's Rights and Social Solidarity, Michael Falzon, said the measure was proof of the government's commitment to not let anyone fall behind. These social measures, he said, were being made possible thanks to the country's economic growth.
