A 70-year-old man was found dead in an apartment in Msida after a fire on Wednesday morning, the police said.
The fire, in Triq Oscar Zammit, was reported at 7.10am and was controlled by Civil Protection Officers.
Two other people, a 25-year-old man and 66-year-old woman, were rushed to hospital for treatment. The young man was seriously hurt, while no information about the woman's medical condition was available.
Initial indications are that the fire was caused by a gas cylinder fault.
The apartment is understood to have been on the third floor of the block.
