Only 221 supply teachers for 88 schools in Malta and Gozo

Currently there are 221 supply teachers catering for the 88 schools and colleges around Malta and Gozo.

The information was tabled in Parliament by Education and Employment Minister Evarist Bartolo in reply to a parliamentary question by PN MP Clyde Puli.

The tabled document highlights that there are 27 supply teachers at the Migrant Learners Unit teaching the Migrant Indication Program. The table also indicated that there is a high demand for primary school teachers, as there are currently 58 supply primary school teachers. There are also currently 30 supply teachers teaching physical education and a total of 16 supply teachers both for Art and Music.
