100 women serving in the Armed Forces of Malta

There are 1,750 personnel serving in the Armed forces of Malta, Home Affairs Minister Michael Farrugia said in Parliament.

He was responding to a Parliamentary question posed by PN MP Claudette Buttigieg.

Of this number, he said, 1,650 are men and 100 are women.

Ranks of the female soldiers:

Lieutenant Colonel - 1

Major - 1

Captain - 3

Lieutenant - 7

Officer Cadet - 2

Warrant Officer Class 2 - 1

Staff Sergeant - 5

Sergeant - 4

Bombardier - 6

Lance Bombardier - 15

Gunners - 50

Gunner Recruit - 5

Total - 100
