Independent MEP Candidate Arnold Cassola has been excluded from all debates, he has said in a statement.
Cassola published information with regards to the PBS debates, which show a total of seven. six of them will include the PN and PL. Five of the debates will also include a single small party (a different one each debate) and one debate is scheduled for just the small parties. The small parties who will only appear in two of the debates are the Partit Demokratiku, who have two MPs in Parliament, the Alternattiva Demokratika, Alleanza Bidla, Imperium Europa, Moviment Patrijotti Maltin.
Cassola is not mentioned in the schedule, nor are any other independent candidates. Cassola called the situation discriminatory and has written to the Boradcasting Authority, asking them to assure the presence of independent candidates and candidates from other political parties on ONE and NET.
He also formally asked to take part in the political debates with other candidates, and to have a number of spots on PBS.
The final debate between the Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader seems to be set for 22nd May.
