Women make up one-fifth of the Malta Police Force

Women make up a fifth of the police force, information tabled in Parliament by Home Affairs Minister Michael Farrugia shows.

Replying to a parliamentary question by PN MP Claudette Buttigieg, Farrugia said there are 2,263 personnel in the Malta Police Force, 465 of which are women.

There is one female Assistance Commissioner, 4 Superintendents, 27 inspectors, 2 2nd Class Sergeant Majors, 94 Women Police Sergeants, 306 Women Police Constables and 31 Reserve Police Constables.
