Two canoeists trapped in Mellieħa cave: CPD

Two people are trapped in a cave close to L-Aħrax in Mellieħa after paddling in with a canoe, the Civil Protection Department has confirmed. An initial rescue effort conducted by sea was unsuccessful and CPD members are now planning a second effort, using either abseilers or a rescue helicopter.  More to follow
