A man was seriously injured early this morning following a fight that took place in Triq it-Turisti, St Paul's Bay, the police said.
The 28-year-old of Mellieha was injured by two men who fled the scene, the police said.
He was taken to hospital where he was found to be suffering from grievous injuries.
The police did not say what type of injuries were sustained.
The incident happened at around 2am.
