PN says it cannot offer AD an agreement which differs from PD coalition

The Nationalist Party said today that it cannot offer the Alternattiva Demokratika  a different agreement from what was already agreed to with the Partit Demokratiku.

The PN and AD have been in talks about a possible coalition, after such an agreement was signed between the PN and PD.

"The constitution as well as electoral law, as they are, make it very hard to create a coalition in the form that the AD want," a PN statement read.

The statement read that the PN and PD already established a practical model as to how an electoral agreement can be reached while keeping the identities of the parties separate in an acceptable way. "The PD agreed that their candidates contest under the PN banner, however keep their identity."

The AD have been calling for all parties in the coalition to run under a completely different name.

The PN statement read: "both the PN and AD understand the urgent need for Joseph Muscat to be removed and for a new clean government. The PN appreciates the spirit with which the AD entered into these discussions."

The PN said that the Prime Minister is expected to call an early general election to save his own skin from justice being done.

"The PN remains open to an agreement with AD on the same basis that was already agreed upon with the PD."
