A 45-year-old Englishman suffered grievous injuries after he was hit by a car this morning.
The police said the accident took place at around 6:30am near Mater Dei Hospital.
The 45-year-old, who lives in Swatar, was hit by a Tata vehicle that was being driven by a 50-year-old man from Birzebbuga.
An ambulance was called and the man was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries by Mater Dei Hospital doctors.
The police are investigating.
