The firm which was responsible for the design of the new parliament building is demanding the sum of €300,000 in unpaid fees from the Grand Harbour Regeneration Corporation (GHRC).
The Renzo Piano Building Workshop filed a judicial protest this morning calling upon the GHRC to settle the pending €300,000 bill. The money represents agreed fees for the additional time it took to complete the project.
The protest was filed by Franco Vassallo and he argued that the agreement was for full payment upon completion of the development. GHRC was obliged to issue a certificate of practical completion but failed to do so.
Renzo Piano Building Workshop gave the GHRC two days to pay before court proceedings are filed.
