A 26-year-old man from Tarxien has pleaded not guilty to multiple thefts and voluntary damage of third party property.
Christopher Briffa is accused of stealing from two vehicles, damaging those vehicles and buying items with stolen money.
Prosecuting inspector Hubert Cini objected to the defence's request for bail on the grounds that throughout interrogations, he told officers that he does not have a place of residence.
Briffa told the court however he is welcome at his mother's house and that he is currently looking for somewhere to rent.
Presiding magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech delivered a stern warning to Briffa when granting him bail, informing him that police will regularly come to check that he is sticking to the curfews imposed by the court.
Briffa was ordered to return to his mother's residence by 11pm and not to leave the house before 6am. He was also granted bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000.
