The Civil Society Network expects Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to order his chief of staff Keith Schembri to meet the European Parliament delegation investigating the rule of law in Malta, the Civil Society Network said today.
In a statement, the CSN said the Prime Minister should be loyal to the oath he took to perform his duties as HEAD of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH of our country without FEAR or FAVOUR.
"In particular, today the Network expects the Prime Minister to give a precise and unequivocal order to his Chief of Staff Keith Schembri to meet the European Parliament Delegation that is presently in Malta on a fact-finding mission and to give exhaustive oral replies to their questions.
"CSN reminds the Prime Minister that he is legally and morally bound to promote the common good of our nation and therefore encourages him to put the interest of us all and of this country's future generations before the hidden interests of the few in this critical moment of our nation's life," CSN said.
This Sunday the Civil Society Network is holding a demonstration in favour of justice in Valletta at 4pm. The main speaker of the event shall be former Magistrate against corruption Antonio Di Pietro. The public is encouraged to meet in front of the Law Courts.
