Energy Minister Joe Mizzi has launched two new shcool education projects regarding water management.
The first project, involves an educational campaign that will build upon the Catch the Drop programme. The campaign will be run by the Energy and Water Agency, and is co-financed by the EU's LIFE programme. The programme costs €400,000
The minister also announced the second project, that will develop an educational programme regarding drinking water quality, which is financed ($400,000) by the HSBC Water Programme.. This programme will be implemented with the help of Nature Trust Malta, as well as the Energy and Water Agency.
This project, he said, will develop a pilot project regarding water dispensers in schools, and thus also addresses waste management when it comes to plastic bottles.
The minister made the aforementioned announcements while visiting Eco-school students in Kalkara.
