GWU orders industrial action at Wasteserv over employee allowances

The General Workers Union has ordered an industrial action after, it says, Wasteserv kept dragging its feet on unpaid allowances for work done.

GWU representative Kenny Muscat said that this was not the first time that the GWU had to take such a step. "The union has been, since August, registering an industrial dispute with Wasteserv over these allowances, and other failures when it comes to employee wages." Muscat noted that management had then asked for discussions to begin to find a solution, but that the company failed to give the employees what is rightfully theirs.

Muscat said that if the workers involved will not receive their owed allowances, the GWU will not exclude escalating action at Wasteserv.
