Full-time workers in Malta worked 40.5 hours on average per week in 2016, a figure slightly above EU average, according to a recent study by Eurostat.
The study, analyzing the 'Average number of usual weekly hours of work' showed that the European Union average in 2016 stood at 40.3 hours per week.
Males in Malta on average worked more hours per week than females in 2016; with males working 41.2 hours per week and females working 39.3 hours per week, the study showed.
The United Kingdom had the highest number of working hours per week in the EU, at 42.3 hours per week. Denmark recorded the lowest number of working hours with 37.8.
