A Somali national who sexually assaulted a Chinese masseuse after she refused to perform sexual acts has been remanded in custody.
A court heard how Hussein Abudullahi Jama, 22, visited a massage parlour in Manuel Dimech Street in Sliema on 14 January. The man paid €40 for a massage.
At one point the man demanded extra services from the masseuses, who is a Chinese national.
When the woman refused, the court heard, the accused pinned her to the massage table, pulled down her trousers and tried to engage in sex. The woman managed to escape but broke her leg in the process. She appeared in court on a wheelchair.
Jama was charged with violent indecent assault and causing grievous injuries to the woman. He was denied bail.
Inspector Mark Mercieca prosecuted. Lawyer Francine Abela appeared for the accused..
