There are currently 11,280 students at the University of Malta, of which 8,733 are full-time students while 2,547 are part-time.
3,901 of these students are new to the university.
Almost two-thirds, 2,299, of new entrants are female, while there were 1,602 new male students.
The Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy has seen the largest influx of students with 576, followed by the Faculty of Arts, with 423.
The Faculty of Laws, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, and the Faculty for the Built Environment have seen 354, 249, and 240 new entrants.
Of the four, only the Faculty for the Built Environment has more new males students than female.
On the other hand, the Mediterranean Institute and the Institute for Physical Education and Sport have seen the lowest influx of students (2).
With regards to Junior College, there are currently 1,890 students (1,059 first year; 831 second year); of these 925 were new students; while at Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary there are 1,818 students.
