The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses has called for an urgent meeting with Health Minister Chris Fearne to discuss two issues which are of concern to the union.
The first issue, a union statement said, is an extra day of vacation given by the government in the budget for 2018. The union contends that the hours of vacation is not the same as that granted when the leave was linked to national holidays.
The second issue is the decision taken by Mater Dei Hospital management to stop food entitlement to employees who work part-time or reduced hours.
The union wants these issues to be resolved with Minister Fearne.
