PN leader commits party to strong opposition to abortion

Nationalist Party leader Adrian Delia yesterday committed the party to a strong opposition to abortion.
Speaking in St Paul's Bay, Dr Delia said the party will always protect the child in the womb. When asked for their opinion on abortion, all PN MPs had unanimously declared they were totally against abortion. PN will always be in favour of measures that protect life right from its beginning,m that is in the womb.
If the Labour Party says it is in favour of rights, the PN will always say it is in favour of life right from the beginning.
Parliament is discussing a Bill against domestic violence. PN is against domestic violence but the existing law defines possible victims of domestic violence including the child in the womb.
But the government is proposing, in the bill under discussion, removing the previous definition of a child in the womb and proposing speaking generically about 'descendants'. PN is asking why is this change being made.
Dr Delia asked Prime Minister Muscat for the reasons behind this change, when the child in the womb is the most vulnerable of possible victims of domestic violence.
