The Opposition has put forward a Parliamentary motion to revoke regulations introduced by government regarding a new system of waste collection, "as government issued them full of mistakes."
The Opposition is also asking Parliament to order government to consult with local councils, stakeholders, and the public so that the new system of waste collection, "which is good", works properly.
The motion was signed by PN MPs Jason Azzopardi and Robert Cutajar.
The PN said that through the regulations regarding waste collection which are meant to be introduced in less than a month, government made a mess and showed that it had no plan for this sector.
PN Deputy Leader David Agius, in a press conference, argued that while the scope of the regulations is good, government showed incompetence by leaving out the timetable for the collection of the white bag in a large amount of local councils.
