Customs Department seizes contraband cigarettes in Msida Bar

The Customs Department last week seized over 42,440 contraband cigarettes and 3 kilograms of shisha tobacco in a bar in Msida, the department said in a statement today.

The department seized 32,760 Business Royals cigarettes; 4,200 Pall Mall cigarettes; 3,200 American Legend cigarettes; 1,560 Richman cigarettes; 600 American Gold Eagle cigarettes; and 120 Three Stars Light cigarettes

The shisha tobacco was discovered in a backroom.

The owner of the bar was held under arrest pending further investigations.
