A dead man has been recovered from the sea in Cirkewwa, the police confirmed to The Malta Independent.
The police received a report about the floating body at around 10.20am. An Armed Forces of Malta helicopter and police were despatched to the area, where the body was lader found near the Paradise Bay Hotel.
The man, whose identity is still unknown, was lifted out of the water.
Magistrate Aaron Bugeja is conducting an inquiry.
A spokesman for the police said that it is still too early to say whether foul play was involved.
