Euro 2020: Malta starts qualifying campaign with 2-1 win over Faroe Islands

The Maltese National Team started its qualifying campaign with a 2-1 victory over the Faroe Islands at the National Stadium in Ta' Qali. The Maltese opened the scoring thanks to Kyrian Nwoko in the 13th minute. They were down to ten men in the 62nd minute when Andre Agius was sent off the the visitors were awarded a penalty. From the spot, Kyrian Nwoko failed to score.The locals increased their lead in the 77th minute thanks to a penalty by Steve Borg. Faroe Islands diminished the deficit on 90+8' minutes thanks to a Jakup Ludvig Thomsen strike.
