Health Minister Chris Fearne observed this morning how action being taken on a European level on health issues was of significant importance to Malta as well.
Dr Fearne is currently participating in the European Health Minister's Council. He remarked that when speaking with his fellow health ministers, there were common themes and issues of concern shared by all EU member states, such as access to new drugs and obesity. The Health Minister also spoke about the global problem of microbes becoming stronger and becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotic treatment.
As such, it was of the utmost importance that Malta continued to participate in such EU-level gatherings.
